Hunting and reloading forums??
I was wondering what the response would be about starting a couple new forums on the list. We have an AR forum and an AK forum....
What about a Hunting / varmint rifle forum? A place to discuss all things with bolts actions, optics, peeps or buckhorns for pokin holes in your favorite critter. How about a Reloading bench forum? A place to discuss reloading matters, powders, bullets, techniques, presses, tooling and gear. Would there be enough interest there to be worth having Admins install those? Anyone...?? Cheers Mac. |

+1 to the reloading forum, that is the only reason I visit GT. If we had a reloading forum like that I would never visit their site.

A varmint forum would be nice. My only thoughts are:
It would get pretty long in the number of individual lists that are available. Maybe we could combine the AR & AK into a "Tactical" forum. I know some may think this blasphemy to combine them, but,............. Don't we already have a reloading froum (Ammo can)?

A hunting forum would be sweet! I'm sure a lot of people here hunt.

Re: the hunting forum
I was thinking that the "hunting forum" might cover wing shooting too....thus shotguns. Basically if it is a bolt, lever, pump or auto....for shooting things with horns, claws, flappers or fangs...you will find it here. As for the reloading forum... I would be just okiedokie if it was a sub group of the Ammo can. I just hoped that we could get a reloading only area. Reloading is an art that I feel is under represented. I think it would be very beneficial for a newbie interested in reloading could sit down in that forum and learn. I for one would love to offer up what I know from the last 20+ years of reloading. Someone asked a question about neck turning a few days ago and sparked this idea in my mind. There has to be a bunch of us reloaders here that would like to offer up help where needed. I always encourage anyone that needs motivation and help to start reloading or casting bullets. Just like oatmeal...it's the right thing to do. Cheers Mac. |

Wing shooting I think would have more to do with trap shooting than hunting. Not that us hunters don't wing shoot when we shoot birds, but I think that trap shooters get more serious about this.

mmm.....true enough. A person could probably make a specific forum for WAY too many things. For example: silhouette, bowling pins, gnats at a 1000 yards, etc. I guess there is no real reason to outline or define what fits in the hunting forum. It is a place to discuss, post pics, or offer suggestions on hunting specific gear, guns or what have ya. Left open like that might be better. Dunno....
Cheers Mac. |
