The lack of movement or sound from the puppy does not prove that it is either a fake or dead. It is instinctual that a puppy will go still and silent when picked up by the scruff of the neck because that is how its mother would move it around.

Personally, I believe the video reveals an example of poor character. I also believe that the vast majority of our military personnel would repudiate such behavior.

Bad move regardless of whether it was alive or dead. No need to throw it. I was on a walk with the wife last week to the post office and came across a dead cat that was hit by a car. Nothing nasty, I actually thought it was just laying there for a nap at first as it looked completely intact. Starting to get covered by the falling snow made me realize it was dead. The thought to pick it up and throw never even crossed my mind.

If it was alive, there's no need to do anything to it. It has better chances for survival on its own as a puppy than it does being "relocated" by the soldier.

As far as stupid actions not making a person bad, well, murdering someone is a stupid action...does that mean that person isn't bad?

What about being desperate and not thinking things through and committing a robbery? Is that a bad person?

Michael Vick is in jail for dog fighting and killing dogs...is he just a good guy who made a stupid decision?

Some of you people act like he is throwing a baby off the cliff.

It's a dog. Or something that looks like one. May even be dead.

I love dogs as much as anyone. But give me a break. You want to start saving dogs then get your ass to China.

Dogs in this country are largely seen as pets, not just some animal running around.

My problem is this, if there is no reason to do it, why do it? What benefit or what good does it do to throw it like that? If it's rabid, fine, kill it, but is it necessary to throw it like that? It might not even die from the fall. If you're going to kill it, grow a pair and shoot it. No need to make it suffer.

Since the offender is currently suspected of being a US Marine, I am now pissed. Here is in Point of Fact the very Article of his "Code of Conduct" he broke should this pan out to be true.

ARTICLE VI: I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free
I will trust in my God and in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Now, should this prove to be a spoof, It is my personal opinion he, as well as his turd-burgaling friends should be hit with at the very least a Captain's Mast. Piss poor conduct all around, and a shame on the very uniform better people have brought pride to since 1775. There is no call for making this a video, and no excuse for uploading it. Marines are well known for a rather twisted sense of humor, but this is beyond that acceptable line.

*******. some of these little kids don't understand they're representing all soldiers and the US as a whole, and as such, these actions reflect on us as a whole.

sorry if anybody doesn't like that fact, that's how the world works.

Up....be careful, all the "support our troops" guys will come and bash you for showing a soldier committing a deplorable act. They'll say it's stress related and give it a pass.

Its most likely fake. You cannot see the dog on the wind-up and the footage gets jittery for a second, like its edited. You also don't hear the yelps getting softer as the dog moves farther away. The dog seems way too fat for a thrid world puppy in a wartorn country and does not move. What ever he threw was either fake or already dead.

Anyone else notice that there are no unit insignia on either uniforms? Shouldn't there be SOME sort of insignia on the shoulders or somewhere on the front of their BDUs? I did not see a one. How do they know they're Marines? Was there a globe and anchor on their cammies? I looked 3 times and did not spot it.

It just does not add up and looks fake, sorry.

You dog lovers are getting worked up over nothing. Calm down.
