Information on new website, Shooter's Flix! - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

Hi All,

Some of you might have seen links or references to a new website on XDTalk called Shooter's Flix. Shooter's Flix is currently in the design phase but is already up and running on the default core install software called PHPMotion. Basically, it's a YouTube clone.

What will differentiate Shooter's Flix from YouTube, Google Video, and others is that the video website will be devoted strictly to videos in regards to shooters whether it's pistols, rifles, shotguns, etc. The hope is to create a community of videos in which users can easily find videos related to our realm.

It seems that videos have been more prevalent lately and much interest have been created in the sense that "if a picture is worth a 1,000 words, the videos are worth a heck lot more!" I'm seeing instructional videos being put up, installation videos put up, review videos put up, match videos, etc. I'm hoping Shooter's Flix will be the new one-stop-shop clearing house for these types of video. As seen with videos from SpringerPrecision.com, there are instructional videos for basic grips [1] [2].

I'm hoping for an official launch date of March 31st depending on the resources available to me, but I hope the addition of this website along with XDTalk will be a big hit.

Also, if there's enough interest after a quick survey of users to launch a "live" version of Shooter's Flix, (i.e. justin.tv, except it'll be called shootersflix.tv) where folks can stream live video of matches, host their own personal live TV show, etc. ... That might come down the pike too!

Any comments & suggestions, including the critical ones & constructive ones, are much welcomed. Thanks!

That sounds like a great idea! I hope it really takes off. Most good shooting videos on YouTube seem to end in stupid debates.

That sounds like a great idea and I hope it takes off . It's nice to have a blow by blow show and how to do things . Watching makes it much easier then trying to explain something with words all the time.

Excellent. I don't think it would do me much good at work, but once I get home internet, I may waste,...uh, spend much time there.
