I may have to look into this stuff when we get moved into the new house.

Does it function as well as the GutterGuard and GutterHelmet things that fit onto your existing gutters? Sooner or later this foam has got to fill up with particulate matter and stop letting water flow through doesn't it?

I looked at the link you provided a couple of weeks ago on this stuff - it makes sense and looks good - But does it really, really work????

$500.00 cleaned 1200 linear foot of gutter and downspout. He did it off of a ladder only. $2.40 per linear foot to clean. This company that does it has a lot of customers at that rate. And most of those I have talked to get the gutters cleaned 2-3 times a year.

The biggest problem I see with gutter helmet, is the water rolls right off the roof and destroys the landscape below. And the fact that you have roof penetration to secure the product. Every hole in a roof is a possible leak down the road.

The gutter screens around here get filled up in one season with all the whirly birds from the trees. Then it is a bear to get all those things cleaned out, you either pick them all out while its in place, or you remove the screen , blow it out , then re-install it. It is a pain. I had one account where I did this a couple of times a year. Pain in the rear.

This stuff seems to be tuff. If you dunk it in a bucket of water, then pull it out, it only retains about 10% of the water. In the gutters where I have installed it about a week ago, the gutters are covered by leaves, that as I sat there and watched during a break, they would blow right off with a gentle breeze, just like it is supposed to work. As far as dirt, the dirt flows thru the filter, settles to the bottom, where it is washed out with the water. I tried to stick a twig into the stuff, and it is not easy to do, definitely won't happen in normal to heavy storms, maybe in a hurricane it could. The roof gravel is supposed to be too big to penetrate the filter, I don't know if I agree with that one. But, I find roof gravel in the gutters that have the gutter helmet also, so they are alike in those regards.

I have it in about 6 foot of one of my gutters, I have no trees even remotely tall enough/close enough to get leaves in my gutters, so I keep an eye on this one property where it is installed, it seems to be doing fantastic. If you buy some I don't make any money, unless you buy it from me .

pm me your address if you want and I will send you a 6 inch sample of it, no charge .
