I just had a flashback to my desk at the office...man I hate that at 8:30 at night!

So, we made it through Christmas without going too crazy. We went and saw Happy Feet on Christmas afternoon...that was a pretty good animated movie.

We bought the kids a laptop and haven't seen them since. We are going to move it to the desk in the front room and make it so they need to use it out there.

What did you think of it? I've heard it degenerates into a bunch of anti-human, anti-fishing greenie stuff at the end.

I wouldn't say it is really anti...it did have a green message to it and, if one is paying attention during the movie AND the slightest bit introspective, it would open their eyes to how we often treat our planet.

(I know it did me...though I spend a lot of time in my business thinking about and planning toward sustainability, recycling, etc. [I am in facilities management])

Just curious. I'm all for sustainable use of resources and intelligent conservation, but I've seen alot of things that are ostensibly for kids that are just thinly-covered all-humans-are-evil environmentalist brainwashing. Just one of my pet-peeves.

Yeah, if you are on the lookout for the thinly veiled messages you refer to, then this movie will probably tweak you a bit!

DTE, I will say that through the movie, the lead penguin, Mumble, kept saying something to the effect of "if I can find the aliens and tell them what is happening, they can help us." With that, I think one can find a message of hope-in-humans!

In the end, "aliens" do come to help them and the fish return to the sea and everyone lives happliy ever after!
