rev-arb: I don't think there's anything wrong w/ starting a Christmas 2007 list already. At least you *want* to make a list. People always ask me what I want, and I never truly know what to ask for. It's probably my proud Irish mentality to not ask for anything (gifts, help, etc)...

My problem is that none of my family/friends/fiancee are rich enough to accomodate my high-priced toys... so why bother making a list for them? LOL.

I think most the most creative was a real toss up, but I'd give it to the decorated Christmas tree cookie that had bits of cookies sticking out of it. It looked like the cookie had an accident and fell on a bunch of glass.

I tried a new recipe for the Christmas Eve party I went to... Norwegian Wreath Cookies... picture a rounded green circle-shaped cookie with red "decorations" on it.. just like a simplified wreath would look... but it's a cookie. They looked very festive. My fiancee loves them. I thought they were a little "tasteless" (even though they have orange peel in them). But the cinnamon candy decorations on them gave them a little kick. They're certainly more for "decorative cookies" than for "tasty cookies."

I might not make them again, but I think they'd be great to use elsewhere, because they can be formed/shaped into ANY letter (not just O's for wreaths) and hold their form really well. I had spelled out my fiancee's name, and she loved them. I could see the recipe being used for different colored letters or shapes and used to accompany a birthday cake or for a kid's party or something.

The dough does NOT "spread" like other drop cookies, either. So you *might* be able to make 3D shapes or letters with some creativity. I might have to experiment some day w/ baking a cookie house "skeleton" or an abstract art piece.....

I'm not looking forward to it. I think I'll break out the orbital sander.

They will but they charge you the standard $75/hr (or whatever it is) rate for the prepping. And from what I hear half of a decent paint job is prepping. If you don't specify that you want it prepped and want to pay extra for it (the quote was twice as high if they prepped it all), they'll just paint over your rusty and chipped paint.

So I'm gonna run out to Home Depot and grab some sandpaper pads for my sander in various grits and some automobile primer and hopefully it won't rain for a few days.

At the last minute (Christmas Eve morning), Mrs. So Flo thought it would be a good idea to get the kids a laptop and to install a wireless router.

Well, Circuit City did not have any of the unit we wanted in stock. I was told they would get more on Christmas and to come back after. I go there this morning and was told by the manager that the unit was a closeout and there would be no more. So, I had him sell me the floor unit and throw in an optical mouse for my troubles.

Now I have the unit running on the network, but cannot figure out how to increase the security on the network...one more thing for me to actually do instead of just surfing and typing!
