went to the range today shoot great with my XD 40 and friend that was with me rented a few range guns and they where wore out!

When I was leaving the range, a couple young guys in front of me in line had rented a couple guns. When they turned them in, the guy behind the counter simply slides the door open to the back of the display case where their "pile" of rental guns lies, and throws them onto the heap.

I thought to myself, damn, I hate it that they abuse these already clapped out and abused guns.

It took me nearly two hours to clean four guns!

I was amazed at how dirty they were and then it hit me...this was the first time I had cleaned them in three range sessions! YIKES! I hate cleaning guns...I need to teach my girls to do it then I can pay them to do it for me!

I don't think this subject has been broached yet, so has anybody here memorized all the alias' for forum emoticons.

I have a few memorized and it greatly speeds up my reaction times in posting to a thread.

tec, yeah, they do have a cream for it, but they say "the silver bullet" is the quickest cure!

The tampon trick for shotguns works well, but I'm guessing you didn't have any shotguns to clean.

No shotguns...only a 1911, Kahr P9, S&W 66, and a Walther p22!

I wanted to shoot my M4-gery but the North Palm Beach police dept was hogging the rifle range.
