Mice are bad enough but Ms. Neomet, before we lived together, had her roommate call to say that they had a rat in their bathroom. Not quite sure how the beast got into the house officially, but the roomie thought the cat had a baby bunny cornered under a china cabinet. So anyways, roomie lays flat on the floor and is trying to coax Fluffy the bunny out when Willard darts out and into the hall bath. After cleaning up the pee stain where they had been laying the roomie calls Ms. N to say they had called an exterminator who was going to come out and charge $250 to slay the beast. I was engaged to deal with the problem for a much cheaper price.

I make it over there with my pellet gun and a huge distaste for rats. When I get there the cats are cowering in a corner, the roomie is still sweating profusely and the stage is set. It was really pretty hillarious to see our SWAT team tactics for clearing the bathroom. Roomie opens door while I cover the opening. Nope, not there. Sweep the front area of the bathroom. Nope, not there. Hmmmm.... did he escape? Opened the cabinet doors under the sink. Nope. Of course all the while I expecting the filthy beast to drop on my head from above like some ninja warrior. Anyway, I notice rat turds behind the back of toilet so I lean up along that wall and sure enough, braced between the back of the toilet and the wall is some steroid enhanced version of a rat. Son of a gun looked like a freaking large squirell.

My shot wasn't great because I had to lean up against the wall so I had to put one into his side. Nailed him but even though it knocked him off the toilet and onto the floor he was mainly just pissed off. I should have a video of my breaking open the pellet gun and trying to put another round in while I am petrified that he is going to come after me with those little rat teeth. Freaking hillarious. Finally get it reloaded at which point he has decided to just sit there and glare at me. A head shot ended the discussion but made a huge mess.

Squirell is better - that reminds me ....ever see that move called, "Never Cry Wolf" with Charles Martin Smith. He is researching Wolves in the artic and survives by eating mice.
