It is a happy Wednesday, despite the fact that I'm at work until 5:00pm...

Tonight I get to bake bread and a cheesecake.

Tomorrow I'm going to my fiancee's grandmother's for Thanksgiving Dinner with them. My family doesn't do much for this holiday, so I'm spending it w/ my fiancee.

Friday (fiancee works) I'll be hitting the trails on my mtn bike all morning. Then I'll go home and take a hot shower, have lunch, and then probably go back outside and visit that horse (and his friends) for the afternoon.

Friday night I pick up my kids for their visitation weekend w/ Daddy. So they'll all be with me for the weekend. I'm thinking about taking them up to see their Gran and Nana (my grandmother and mother), unless they want to come down for a visit.... We'll see what happens.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone!! Be safe, and have fun, and eat lots of yummy food!! And remember to pause and give thanks for all that you have.

This was contrary to our initial plan and was a decision of convenience for the contractor.

The result was that our phone system locked up due to the heat and the IT folks had to shut down the entire network to keep the servers from overheating...needless to say I was on the receving end of a number of very heated calls regarding what happened and reminded time and again of how much the outage was costing the institution...

I needed a drink when I got home, instead, we enjoyed supper with the family then I took them out for ice cream, in spite of it being so cold here!
Dude, I feel for ya. When we re-roofed one of our buildings, everybody complained of the odor, even tho we had shut off the air in-takes on the building and were just recirculating the air. Of course these are the same people that complain of natural gas leaks / odor in the all electric building. People, you gotta love 'em cuz you can't hide all their bodies.

Hope it all works out for ya So Flo! Are they gonna get it done this weekend?

Oh, buy the way, I havent made time to look up any of your articles yet but plan too soon.

tec, they were supposed to be done today, but looks like they have two full days ahead of them. It is a small job, maybe 3500 square feet or so, but this contractor has never finished a project on their established date in the 11 years I have worked with them.

I will use the "...cause you can't hide all the bodies" comment in the future!

It all worked out, the Interim Director apologized for over reacting. I wanted to send a listserv noting that it was entirely our fault and he said he would not approve the message if it went to the listserv moderator.

I'm all for taking my lumps when I have them coming. I hate taking the beatings when it is not at all our fault. I always say "It's not my fault, but it is my problem!"

When you read the articles, let me know what you think...really!

I'm headed next door for a campfire...our neighbors have their fire pit stoked up and we're going to drink beers and make smores!

See ya later!
