Welcome to the NET (Never Ending Thread)...more of a bunch of guys (and a gal or two) hanging around chatting than a post whore thread. Soo, open up a cold beverage of choice, pull up a chair, and tell us a story or two about Texas Armadillo!

Well there was this cruise my wife and I took a few years ago. We sailed from Galveston to Cancun first. But the water was too rough to use the little ferry's, so we went on to Cozumel where they had a proper dock. ![]() ![]() We spent the first day riding around the island. We had hired a cab for the whole afternoon. (40 bucks) We asked him to take us to the parts of the island that the locals go but tourists don't... beaches restaurants, beaches, shops, parks, etc. We had a great time. ![]() ![]() The next day we took a ferry over to the mainland and took a bus to the Tulum Mayan Ruins and Xel Ha water park where we played with Dolphins. Then back to the ship and on to Roatan Honduras. ![]() ![]() ![]() Roatan was also great. The island had only had electricity for a few years so everything had a Gilligan’s Isle feel to it. We sailed in a 60' mono-hull 1940's vintage sailboat. Snorkeling at the reefs and drinking rum punch and getting sunburned. ![]() ![]() Then a two day cruise back to Galveston. That part was kind of boring. We basically sat by the pool and read books and drank beer. It wasn't too bad. |
