Back from the grocery store, the post office, and the gun shop...came home with food and a fishing license.

I think this is what I might do eventually. I found a NIB 642 out the door for under $400. I need to call the guy and see what kind of price he can get, if he can find one at all, on a Ruger LCP. He's selling the Kel-Tec P32 and P3AT both under $260.

If I could get a pocket revolver and one of those little .380s for under $700, that'd be fantastic. The wife would have a gun to carry and I have something for the summer time.

Indoor ranges are few and far between where I live for some reason. The closest two are an hour away in opposite directions. I planned on calling the one I've been to in the past to check what they had used and would make the trip if they had a 642 to check out and would do it sooner if they had a good price on it.

I'm reading the issues with the locks are coming up in the 642 and I actually don't mind having the choice of using it. There are times when I must briefly throw my gun in the glove box and lock it up in there, but it would be nice to be able to lock the gun itself.

There is a used SP101 around for $295, but no pictures of it and that price compared to the others makes me cautious. They all seem to have the full hammer as well. Is bobbing a hammer something you recommend not doing yourself? I'm not worried about it being a gorgeous gun, I'm looking for functionality.
