Our old ones were EF Johnson's I believe. They sucked. We just did the whole Motorola switch all together. I have a XTS 5000R Handheld on me right now.

ewwww, dont want no johnson junk, yea all my search and rescue buddies are carrying xts3000 s and I cant afford one right now.....sucks, how do you like the xts5000?

It's awesome... It has a night mode(no lights), silent mode(no beeps and stuff). You can change the channel on the Hand Mic(I need to do that quite often) and the volume. It also has a battery life display if you have a new style battery. Over all this radio rules compared to any other I have used.

both are the same price, both are just as reliable, now you understand why I cant afford one right now

That is a ton I doubt my dep paid that much be LE/GOV and with the bulk orders and all. But still it was probably a lot.

they may have got them a little cheaper, but I doubt too much cheaper, but Im glad you guys finally went to an apco 25 system though, IMO a much safer system, anyway, be safe tonight, I gotta run and take care of a few things ,
