It's entirely possible that bin Laden is dead however I've been reading a book that sheds credible light on the notion that the Tora Bora bombings missed bin Laden by as much as a couple weeks. Based on the book, if he is dead it's been since Tora Bora not as a result of it.

I am by no means a conspiracy theorist, but I was in the actual military on active duty at the time of 9/11 and as stated in "Loose Change" and a few other movies, 9/11 was not a terrorist attack and was actually coordinated by the American government. Love thy lying government!

I'm really puzzled by the debate on whether OBL is alive or dead as it pertains to why we have not been struck by AQ since 9/11. Why is this relevant to this topic?

+1 That's BS from people that don't like Bush and/or our Gov. I don't agree with everything that has gone on since 9/11, but I don't think the US gov. would do something that extreme to cause us to go to war.

Our government is basically inept in all areas of security, from borders to immigration... so it certainly isn't bushco preventing it... what is?

The same reason we only get attacked about once a decade here in the USA. "Thats just how they roll". Basically they try this one big 'event' and normally it fails completely. On 9-11 they simply got lucky and the utter failure our of government, intelligence and police services were shown in bright vivid hi-def color. The usual incompetence of alqueda won out on 9-11 over the high than usual incompetence of the US government.

And I've got to take strong issue with anyone stupid enough to think they are too busy in iraq to spare one or two jihadis to hop a plane to mexico and walk across the southern border to try something. The door has been wide open for a very long time. They aren't using it. Why? Because al quackers isn't the big boogey man the fascists would like you to believe. I'll leave ti to Churchhill:
