Actually, Stalin (an atheist leading an atheistic government) and Mao (see Stalin) killed more people than anything that can reasonably be blamed on religion. For a thurough dissection of most of these arguments, if done a little bombastically, see "The Irrational Atheist" by Vox Day. It's a good read. While he is a Christian, it's not so much pro God as anti-atheist. DD

And how many have killed in the name of their deity, prophet, or divine leader? That kind of changed the subject. There has been always something or someone. It is just easier to use the Christianity example because it has happened the last 2000 years. There is more to it than religion.
I guess that there will always be those who choose not to see.
