Intellectually challenge their beliefs? Certainly. I'd feel pretty gyped if someone claimed to know the "truth" but didn't care enough to tell anyone else.

I think any "organized" religion that doesn't claim to be "the only correct" religion is probably more of a philosophy than a religion.

So, you are saying that i should feel left out somehow, if someone didn't try and get me to believe what they do?

If I wanted organized religion, I'd go get it myself, thanks. It's at a church. Or the crazy guy on the corner telling me to find god so I can be saved. If I wanted someone's opinion about my beliefs, I'd ask for it.

"impress your beliefs upon me?" means exactly that. I would appreciate it if YOU, or other people with religious beliefs WOULD NOT try and get me to believe what you do. I have my own beliefs and I don't need yours. It was a simple statement and it still is.

I don't know how you came up with that interpretation, but it looks like you are looking to drag me into a confrontation with that. Again, leave my beliefs alone please.

Honestly, I don't care if anyone else has found 'truth'. People who have can tell whoever they want about it, except to me. I'm not telling you that your god is wrong and you shouldn't believe in it. So don't try and tell me that my beliefs are wrong. There are channels on the TV and meeting places for telling people you've found 'truth'. Keep it out of my public school and out of my government and I don't have any problems. Hold mass 7 days a week all day, fine by me. I'll even help fund the traffic light in front of the church to help make traffic safer during the busy times. But don't try and tell me what I should believe.

I didn't come here to discuss religion or to try and change anyone's beliefs. I originally posted just to let the poster i replied to know that not all atheists fit into the broad blanket statement made in that post.
