Shooting at tennis balls

I have been lurking around here for a week or so and decided to register to become part of the great conversations. I have enjoyed reading everything that everyone has posted so far. I have had my XD .45 acp compact 4" for a few months now and love everything about it!!! I am even thinking about getting another model just not sure which one yet.

I found an old practice soft ball in the yard a while back and shot it with my xd. It's not a traditional leather, cork and string ball. It's a rubber type deal thats used for practice. It's some pretty tough stuff. a .40 cal hollow point only left a couple 1/8th holes in it.

I've also shot at water jugs, pumpkins, pop cans all kinds of stuff. I even used to shoot at brass.

Something I have really wanted to try is shooting a lit candle in a dark room with my bow or even a pistol/rifle for that matter.

I took a candle up to the range once it was a huge piece of wax like 6"x6"x6" and after the first shot there were only like 2 pieces left even worth trying to shoot at. I was pretty cool seeing what the .45 does to a block of wax but after that I had a bit of a mess to clean up since the range masters don't like non biodegradable materials left on their range.

Sorry about that i'm not new to forums. The site atated something about the introduction and I started typing thinking it took me to the members into section but I guess not. Oh well

What size shot are you talking about? 6-8, 00buck, slugs?

shut up. i put that bird there for a reason........ to send it off in style.

that was a fun day. some body had left a bunch of bowling pins on a froszen creek that we could shoot down at so we were playing hockey with them with the ARs
