I've never used tobacco, but all deep-seated habits and addictions are difficult to overcome. You have my admiration and encouragement for taking a stand and beginning the effort to quit.

Keep it up--your family (and wallet) will thank you.

Stay away from firearms for at least 2 weeks. I've quit 4 times in the last 25 years, the longest I've gone was 2 years got stressed out and went right back. I'm in the same boat, trying to quit again. Good luck.

Good to hear...I posted this on another forum after someone found out he tested negative on a cancer test:

Quote:
Great news...most people don't realize cancer affects 1 of every 3 Americans and 3 our of every 4 families, 1 out of every 4 deaths is cancer related, cancer is the second leading killing disease among children ages 1-14. 90% of cancers are non hereditary.

This is why cancer insurance is a huge industry right now.

yes I had the habit along with smoking and did both for 46 years and quit three years ago. Snuff was harder to stop then smoking. I was in the hospital getting an artery in my leg opened. I was in a day and half without a smoke and just decided not to have one after that. The snuff I stopped a few weeks before that because I could smoke to curb the need for it. I wish you luck and know it's not easy. I did both cold turkey and after a few days I was good to go...Best of Luck

Yes, nine times for me "Copenhagen" last time was 6 months. I almost had to stay out of any small convenience store. Fishing and beer always did me in.

its brutal isn't it? the "bear" has me captive.......I "quit" awhile ago, but like mentioned above, shooting makes it even harder. While I had "quit" I participated in a sniper school for swat, long days shooting, running etc etc, I was out of my mind needing a dipper, caved in and here I am typing with a big ole dip in. I'll quit, but its going to be when I'm fed up with it, unless your truly ready it won't work.......good luck

Got a dip in now as I type this too. Good luck to you! I know how hard it can be as I have "quit" 100 times. I wish to God I had never started this awful habit.
