Ways we think......

Three men, a psychologist, an engineer and a theologian go hunting in the backwoods of Canada. It's getting late and they find a small trapper's cabin and seek shelter.

They knock, no one is home, but with nowhere else to go, they enter to spend the night.

Immediately in the cabin they notice the woodstove is suspended above the floor with wires from the ceiling, it's very odd so they speculate why......

The psychologist thinks the trapper lies under the warm stove to give him the sensation of being in his mother's womb.

The engineer postulates a theory that the circulation of heat in the cabin is aided by the elevation of the woodstove.

The theologian is certain that the ancient rituals of elevating fires to the sky as a sign of worship is the reason this stove is hanging from the ceiling.

As they are arguing the trapper returns home. The three men, wanting to settle the controversy, ask the trapper for the reason the stove is in such an unusual position.

The trapper replies, "well I had a lot more wire than I had stovepipe."

Aha! Reason. Practicality. Efficiency. I love it. Psychology will never be a match for good old logic.

So much for thinking "outside the box".

There's some good ol' country logic in that story. I like it.
