Thanks for the kind words. I'm looking forward to my time as a LEO. Who is this Mr. Suarez and why does he know so much?
SleeveleSS, among others things, he is an convicted ex-leo, convicted of workers comp. fraud and grand theft. He used to work for Santa Monica PD in Ca. He, of course has a different story. He may know his stuff and be very skilled at it and at teaching it, but working in le myself for almost 3 decades, taking instruction from a crooked cop sticks in my throat. YVMV

There will be a few here who will probably jump to his defense as they have in other threads when I bring this up, but so be it. I just like people who don't know his complete backround to be aware of some things.

Since you are entering an academy to become a leo, you will learn how to question what someone says more than you may already do. Hopefully my info will be a bit of a help. Good luck in the academy and your le career. I hope you will enjoy yours as much as I enjoyed mine.

All this is quite interesting. I had not planned on taking a class from Mr. Suarez, but I do appreciate what his few words did for my shooting. As with anything else, it's hard to tell the fact from the fiction, especially on the internet. Thanks for the info.

Kudos for having the integrity to admit your mistake and learn from it, especially doing so on a public forum so that others can learn from your mistake as well.

Great shooting, by the way! Good luck with your LEO career!

I hear ya about triple checking; I also use snap caps, not because the XD needs them, but because I think they give me an extra "level" of safety...plus they're great to have around for malfunction drills, checking people's flinches, etc
