I really think there was a change after 9/11. Before 9/11 the advice in the event of a hijacking was to cooperate. Worse case, the hijackers would off one or two people and maybe fly you to Cuba.
After 9/11 they figured out real quick that the paradigm had changed. On a few United flights, they the Purser actually recommended that passengers charge any potential hijackers, because no one else would come to your rescue. As bad as it sounds, it's going to take a few more Colorado style shooting where somebody quickly terminates the shooter. Then the "pro" crowd has to hammer the message home. Gun free zone = death. Armed Citizen = life. It's the exact opposite of the message thats been shoved down everyone's throat since the mid-70s. |

I can just see New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or New Hampshire passing laws ALLOWING CCP holders to carry on campus.....
Shortly after that happens, the sun will turn into a giant cinder......

In the state of Colorado, it is not illegal to carry on a college campus - but campus's may ban legal carriers from doing so if they wish. Colorado State - perfectly legal, and not against policy either.
Against policy does NOT mean against law.

This appeared last year in our school newspaper in the opinions section. I really loved seeing something like this in there. Naturally, the next week there was a letter to the editor saying there would be shootouts over girlfriends by drunken college students, knee jerk reactions, blah, blah blah (and it was written by the same guy who complains that our gun club gets too large of a budget . . . I wasn't shocked to read it). I didn't get a chance to draft my response to that letter before they stopped publishing for the year.
Anyway, here's the article: Quote:
