To a new poster and XD owner, this is great information to have! I do have one question, though, on the suggestion for determining eye 'dominance'.
If I focus on a give target and then bring an 'ok' symbol to bear on it, I see two circles. Whichever circle I use as my marker determines which eye appears to be dominant. So, if I line up the left circle over the target and my right eye is the one that maintains a view; if I line up the right circle over the target, my left eye maintains the view. Does this indicate that my eyes are agnostic as far as aim goes? Or does it mean I'm doing this exercise wrong? TIA, -Snydremark |

Serious question, even though it sounds stupid -- I can see the front sight with both eyes open if I squint a little. Is it more beneficial to squint, or to just close my non dominant eye? I really physically cannot focus on the front sight with both eyes open, I get double vision and see the front sight on each side of the rear sight, but not in the middle of it.
Squinting, I shoot pretty decent. It just takes me a second to pull up the pistol and focus in on the front sight like that. |
