If you're still using dialup this is hard to pass up!

This just keeps getting cheaper and cheaper! SBCYahoo DSL broadband service is now only $15 per month for the 1.5mbps DSL.

I'm tempted to switch over to their "Pro" service that offers 3mbps for $25. The only thing is I'd have to drop my current VoIP service I think. Currently paying $44 a month for Time-Warner cable service that is something like 4mbps and that has been slowing WAY down in the evenings a lot lately.

Thats a steal of a deal. I pay 19 bucks for SBC. I have had dsl or cable since 2000 the only way to go if you can. I had to us dial up for about 3 months when I moved and I about went crazy, spend all day just trying to pull up a few pages. I feel bad for people in the country that have no real options. I like SBC, have has them since Jan 2003 have not had any problems with them once it got set up. Had a few problems getting it set up, they didn’t know what the heck they were doing but once it was up.

The way I read the promo, those prices are only good for the first year, then they go up to the standard rate. Did I read that correctly?

You are correct. I think the rate goes up to $30 or something.

In my experience the rate did NOT go up after the first year. I used to have SBC DSL. When the year ended the price stayed the same. Then I called them up and asked them to lower it to the current promo price and they DID! I think the reason they lock you into a year contract is so that they don't have to lower it when other promos come out. Like the guy that pays $19 a month might want the $15 price. I'm not guaranteeing that the price won't go up but that's not what happened in my case.
