Retro CZ 75 or CPO Sig 226?

I can get a NIB Retro CZ 75 shipped for $390 and no tax or I could get a CPO Sig 226 shipped for $480 grade 1. I have always wanted both but that CZ is looking pretty good. Any advice is appreciated. I will be doing this soon and think I have already decided on the CZ. New vs. CPO?

I have both a SIG and a CZ. There both good but I prefer the CZ. The CZ feels and shoots better for me and I love it for that mostly. Based on the feedback I've seen, the SIG probably is better out of the box reliabilty wise. It apears to me that the CZ can have some (fixable) idiosyncrasies. Even so, I'd go CZ and deal with whatever potentially comes up and I think you'll have a better peice.

I'm not sure what the advantages/disadvantages are with the Retro though.

I'd go for the CZ. I have a Sig 220 and love it, but the 226's grip is NOWHERE near as comfortable as that of the CZ .Besides, the CZ is brand new and has a steel frame.

They're both d/a triggers, so neither scores points for better trigger pull, but the CZ wins out for the grip first, the steel frame second and the fact that it is brand new.

I had one of the earlier CZs (an original retro?) and stupidly sold it. It was an accurate and well made piece. The CZ-75 is arguably the 2nd best hi-cap 9mm out there, the FN Hi-Power is first (only because of its more crisp s/a trigger) with the Sig 226 a distant third.

Get the CZ, cheaper and IMO the better gun (at least for me). THe sig is just too small and I got sliderail marks on the back of my hand when I fired it last.

The CZ-75 retro is not a DA gun. Meant to be used SA, DA is there so you can pull trigger again in case it fails to fire due to hard european military primers. Dropping the hammer on a loaded chamber in a gun without a decocker is not considered a safe practice or recomended to the casual shooter.

Then I'd go for the CZ first...my bet is that you can improve the trigger with some smithing and it will shoot circles around the Sig 226.

Hold a CZ-75 in your hand, then a 226, the grip alone ought to sell you the piece.
