Sold my XD.
I had no use for it anymore. I'm sure I'll get flamed, but at least now my stuff will benefit other people.
(I have 17 handguns. It's getting so that I have to get a bigger safe.) I have a few things for sale right now, and Ican't say I'll miss the XD. I got more for it than I paid, and it just sat in the safe. When I go to the range, I can't put my CZ-75, 1911s, HiPowers, Makarovs, and Python down long enough to shoot the XD. I almost never carry it (4" Hipower or Springfield Champion get the nod almost every time.) and it doesn't feel "right" in my hand. This is one of the best gun related forums on the web, and I'm sad to go.

My friend sold me a Kimber Custom II, So that left me with 3 autos because I couldn't get a good deal on the Star BM I traded the XD for Mossberg 500. Between the Kimber and the Star I don't miss that gun at all.

I agree with steveracer...to an extent. When you own a few 1911s and a Hi-Power, the XD-40 does not get shot first, but its hard to get rid of a pistol that grouped well right out of the box and has literally been trouble-free for 1000 rounds.

1. Manual thumb safety mounted on the frame- tough thing to come by unless you wanna shell out the money for an HK usp, many guns have a manual safety but its in a retarded place like on the slide or inside the trigger guard. 2. Ribber grip- sooo comfortable and absorbs recoil 3. 17+1 round capacity-cant beat that. 4. Better finish- the XD is known for its poor finish from the factory. 5. the price- got mine NIB for $339. 6. NRA 1 year free membership 7. Trigger- some people hate it, others love it. I like it because its my ccw gun so i want a DAO trigger, dont want any ADs and when i pull that trigger in real life i wanna be sure of it. I know i might get some flak for this argument but how many ADs have there been when reholstering a Glock?? That wont happen with the 24/7 you have to WANT to pull the trigger for it to fire. Things I like about the XD more: 1. The sights, although smaller than the ones on the 24/7, the XD is dovetailed and you can outfit it with night sights, no such things for the 24/7 yet. 2. this forum 3. Greater amount of recognition and thus aftermarket support for accessories (mags, holsters, etc.)
