Yeah, I have no desire for one of those, either. Ammo is expensive enough in 45 and 40 as it is...no need to add a MORE high dollar round that is harder to find.

I'd buy one... not for the looks, change the sights and I'd get one for sure.. but... The firepower is awesome... FN says the ammo is half as light as a 9mm and the recoil is about that of a 9mm...

But it'd be awesome if you could afford to shoot it.

I shot one once. Wish I had the money to buy one. the thing sits very comfortably in my hand and weighs very little. Very comfortable to shoot because even though the bullet screams, it's light weight as well, so recoil is very light. Oh yeah, and it's stupid accurate, too.

There are new, low profile sights that will be out later this year

Why would I want an FN 57?

The only reason beyond coolness and bragging rights, would be if someone else was buying the ammo. It's a great gun if it is issued and supported by an agency. But for an individual, it is IMO a status symbol

Bah. Why bother? If you've got an AR that shoots .223 already why make it shoot something more expensive with less performance?

Yeah I too was trying to figure out how this would be a desirable upper.
