Maybe I'm not being quite too clear with how I got my prints done, and I dont mean to be beating a dead horse, but I dont want to waste my time and $ sending things back and forth or getting denied because I didnt do something right.

I had my prints taken electronically at my local pd. After they were captured on the computer, they were PRINTED from the PD print computer. Now, my friends that work there all use this type of print instead of actually rolling them in ink because they come out better(which I agree). Should I just be calling FL and UT to aks them or has someone else done them this way?

Again, just to be clear, I did not actually have my prints INKED, but SCANNED then PRINTED. And sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but I live in a sh!t state and dont even get the option of carrying outside my house and work.

oh, and TOTP(i think I can do that right?)

What's TOTP? Zach talk to Pete V as he has both the FL and Utah CCW permits.

The printed copy should be fine. In FL you can have your prints taken electronically and they print them on a fingerprint card for your records, you do not actually have to mail the card in because they already have them in the system from the scan. What people were trying to tell you is that if you have your prints electronically taken in a "different state," that electronic copy will not work in for FL.

So again, the printed copy will work fine. In my opinion the printed version of your prints should be better than ink, so go ahead and mail it in.

P.S. Florida is not very picky, I made a mistake when I sent in my permit application and they just called me and told me what the additional info was that they needed. After all that it still only took like 3 weeks to get my permit from the day I sent my application in. Also, remember that since your not doing the electronic prints, you have to pay the fingerprint processing fee which should be listed on the permit info you have. If I remember that fee is $42.

BuccaneersFan-- thank you for clearing that up for me. From what my Sgt friend said they hate the ink prints, and I can understand why. Everyone else, here and other boards make FL sound very picky about the whole thing, that's why I was getting a little concerned about my electronic printed prints(does that make sense?).

So, thank you again for clearing that up.

I took a class at a local gun range for $25 and it only took like 2 1/2 hours. Most gun ranges offer classes at least every month, like every first Saturday or Thursday etc. Also, classes are always offered at gun shows!

P.S. Florida excepts pretty much any kind of class that has to do with gun safety, it doesn't have to specifically be a CCW class. Look at your "Concealed Weapon or Firearm License Application Instructions" book on the first page under question 6 "Training Documentation." I think there is additional info about this on the Florida Department of Agriculture web site.

Florida CCW Applicants - Get your prints done

Laz jsg525@earthlinl.net Is an Instructor that lives in PA by Philly send him an email and he can let you know where he will been teaching the next Utah course. You do not need a NJ Utah Certified instructor. Any certified instructor regardless of the state you or he lives in is okay.

Email him and you can use his course for Utah and FL.
