Yeah, I blame Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. The rest of the state could care less how many guns you had or carried.

Dang, Montana is rated 32nd, and at 8 points... How do we work on getting that lower?
I guess I could move, I see that Idaho is lower...

I always said 44 was my lucky number!

The freedom and justice a state enjoys is inversely proportional to how much the Brady Campaign likes that state.

The ratings swing from very high to low quickly, it's like there are 10 bad states and the rest are OK.

WA State's gun laws are very good, I have zero complaints about them (and I'm a whiner as we all know), so the states below WA must be REALLY good!

How come VT, which is stunningly liberal, has such a low rating?
I assumed VT would have very bad gun laws, what a surprise.

To try to make a more valid comparison, limit to looking at crime rates only in cities of all the same size, e.g., the crime rate for all cities (in every state) between 50,000 and 200,000 in population. These ought to be large enough to a represent a good ethnic, economic and educational mix of population.

This way you'd see what the crime rates were for the top 10 or 20 states, versus the bottom 10 or 20 states, in a comparable population make-up.

I'd suspect violent crime rates are higher where gun laws are more restrictive.

Ever notice that the top 5-6 states on their list are among those with the highest per capita crime rates?

Check it out

Guess 'gun control' works - if you're a criminal!

It's interesting that they've removed the letter grades to make it seem like they're gaining more ground.

When the majority of states get D's and F's, I would think it would be hard to inspire people to donate to a lost cause.

Last year's Letter Grade Ratings: Brady state report cards are in...
