Being from WV I am finally proud to be at the bottom. I was looking over the list at all of the surrounding states, they need our help and then I looked to the south and there was Kentucky. Thanks Kentucky for saving us from the top of the Brady list.

I'm surprised FL is as high as it is... What more do we need to do other than legalize selling guns at 7-11? (After all, they sell weed pipes and bongs - 'unique tobacco pipes' - around here at convenience stores already.)

It would be interesting to look at the crime rates of each state versus the Brady Bunch Rank.

To try to make a more valid comparison, limit to looking at crime rates only in cities of all the same size, e.g., the crime rate for all cities (in every state) between 50,000 and 200,000 in population. These ought to be large enough to a represent a good ethnic, economic and educational mix of population.

This way you'd see what the crime rates were for the top 10 or 20 states, versus the bottom 10 or 20 states, in a comparable population make-up.

I'd suspect violent crime rates are higher where gun laws are more restrictive.
