Which Springfield 1911-A1 is it?? Is it the G.I. 1911, Mil-Spec, or the Full Size, because each of those price are differnt value. If it is a Full Size for 500 that is a good price, if its a Mil-Spec or G.I. I talk him down more.

I went back to the gunshop today and talked with the owner. I voiced my concerns about the custom work that was done on the weapon, so he told me two things.

First was that he had his gunsmith look at it (as they do every incoming used weapon) and it checks out as quality work (or they would have fixed it before selling it).

Next he sealed the deal by telling me that once I pay it off and take it to the range to give her a workout, that if I found the weapon to be unsatisfactory that he would allow me to bring it back for a store credit (not a refund, but a store credit) minus a 25 $ restocking fee.

So at the most I would loose a whole 25 bucks. Well hell, I've blown more than that on riskier ventures so I went for it.

The SA 1911 is now on layaway in my name. I plan on paying it off around August with my B-Day cash. (Dad always gives me a wad of money).

Then after that... I'm after the SW1911 to keep the SA 1911 company!

I noticed that this gun had a Wilson barrel today... and has had a trigger job. The trigger breaks very cleanly at what I would guess to be around 3.5 lbs.

I am wondering if this is too light for a carry weapon's trigger?

Yes, it is a bit light. 4.5 or 5 lbs would probably be a bit more like it.

Fortunately adjusting the trigger weight on a 1911 is fairly easy.
