After doing a total disassembly of the XD45compact the last couple weeks,
I've found besides the punches I bought, I need a small nylon and/or brass hammer. I bought a small rubber mallet but it didn't work too well for tapping pins in. I ended up with a mallet full of pock marks. I also figured out I needed to get/make a small flat blade screwdriver and grind a notch into the middle of it to aid in pushing springs into place. Unless they sell one like that I haven't looked into it. After fighting with the spring in the mag release for 40 minutes, I made one and it took 15 seconds to bend the spring over and under the mag release. That was truly the hardest part of putting the XD back together.
