Microchips Everywhere-The future-Chips in Guns?

This article is a long read so I didn't post the full text here. Gist of it is that RFID tags are coming down in price enough to be attached to all merchandise purchased. This apparently will be presented as a replacement for UPC Bar codes and has a great potential for marketers of all kinds. The industry assures all that they have no interest in tracking individuals except when they might be in their store. One of the respondents to questions about this Technology said it best..."If there's money to be made you can bet that they'll do it".

I posted the link here because it specifically mentions that IBM has used Firearm and other dangerous items as a reason for development in their patent application.

Take a look and see what you think.

Just put the thing in your firearm and be done with it.

BS!!!
Did they have a patent when they developed a method that tracked the Holocaust victims. I don't care how cheap it get's a printed barcode will always be cheaper. The little plastic thingy that we see on merchandise can set off an alarm if someone attempts to take something they did not pay for.

How are they going to track me in THEIR store via this technology any differently than what current technology allows?

Besides, the firearm is not what is dangerous.
The person operating the trigger is what can be dangerous.
Then again, maybe this IS the dangerous item they are speaking of?
