Did I break a law today?
Hello All,

I live in Idaho and am waiting for my CCW permit to arrive. My Crossbreed holster arrived yesterday for my XD-40. I wanted to see how it carried so I placed in the holster and off to the store I went for some shopping. The gun was unloaded... So did I break any laws by having the gun with me?

theretically, you were carrying concealed, I don't think it matters if it was loaded or not, either way a weapon was concealed. my opinion though I don't work for law enforcement.

I am not LEO either but would have to agree with the other two. If someone can be considered carry concealed when it is a fake gun, I would only assume the real one would be the same. But hey, you are home now, so dont do it again and you didnt break any laws. By the way this conversation never happened.

Just goes to show we all need to be careful with what we do and think about it ahead of time. If you would have gotten caught, would that have ruined your right to carry concealed. I am not giving you a lecture, but it is something to think about ahead of time for all of us.

OK.... so "case" was the wrong word..... Gun in the holster, holster on the waistband, me in the truck, me in Cabellas.... Thanks for the input!!

ESP, cause I am good like that. LOL, now the truth, I didnt even notice it. I was following what I expected him to say and missed it. Good catch, but my assumption was right. I will take luck when it comes my way.

Some people just having a little fun.

Honestly, yes you did break the law. Until it is in your possession, don't do this again. If caught for whatever reason, you might/will loose what you do not even possess.
I'm not sure about your area, but in AZ you must carry your CCW permit anytime you carry concealed.
