Wow..... A firestorm.... Many thanks to everyone that posted. It is nice to be able to find things out here and learn as I go. For the record: I'm not a gun toting Yahoo or one that looks to break laws. I had the gun in the pants, the sweatshirt over the belt and a heavy leather jacket over everything. I must admit I am looking forward to the Nachos run in the next few weeks or so.

I am an officer in Idaho and yes you did break the law. If you were open carrying you would have been within the law. You can carry in your home or fixed place of employment without a permit.
