Hard time hearing after shooting? test hear

Here is a link to a web site that plays different ring tone at different tones, some of which are supposed to be inaudible to older ears. I thought it interesting that some of the ones listed as being audible to people under 40, I could hear, and some I coudn't.

I guess it's a good way to check your tone hearing.

I have a rotary (pot type) switch on my speakers 0 to 11, I had mine set at 10. sitting about 3-6 foot away.

Wow, I always knew I had bad hearing but this proves it. I'm 37 and I can only hear the top three sounds from 50 & younger up. My 7 year olds could hear all of them except the bottom two. To many long hours listening to heavy metal in my youth has come back to haunt me...

Where should my speaker volume be. With it all the way up I can hear all but 2.
With it fairly low I can hear all but 5 and I am 32. And my wife thinks my artillery days made me deaf. Dont tell her.

I could hear all but 22.4 kHz. I would have selected 16.7 kHz as the lowest one that I could hear comfortably. I guess I am not as old as I thought I was!! LOL!
