If there is no damage to my slide and it only costs $10 more then I will probably continue to use them. Although I will think twice before having them do anymore work on any of my guns. Thanks for the input.

You might talk them into a free day at the range after you get your XD back. People make mistakes. They obviously made one this time. I believe in giving folks a shot after a mistake. If it happens again with something else, then walk. Just MHO.

I agree with you given this situation.
Unfortunately in this day and age the customer is not always right. Many times the customer is just trying to get something for free. Daily I deal with customers bringing cars in for service that have scratches or dents or missing trim and they try to blame it on our shop. Unfortunately mom and pop have probably been burnt by customers looking for a free ride in the past and are "gun shy" of others because of it.

Springfield was snowed in for awhile. I still don't have my pistol back yet.

This really makes me more apprehensive about handing over my gun for any reason in the future. I WANT MY PISTOL BACK!!!

+ 1 million. There is only one gun shop in my area (and it's not that close) where the owner(s) actually treat you like a person. ide say welcome to florida, since most of the gun shops close to me are the turds except one of them... and the funny thing is its a mom and pops shop with a gun range and a reloading station

If they agreed on that price and then were unable to do the job, they should hae given you the option to get your gun back in stock form, or pay the extra $10 to send it to SA. They chose not to, so they should be "at your mercy." If you choose to pay, fine. If you don't, they should eat the cost.

It was their mistake by taking a job they couldn't do.
It was their mistake by sending your gun out without asking you first.

Thay asked first. I told them that I wanted my gun back w the new sights on but that I didn't want to pay the diff. $10 was the compromise. My big deal was is $10 of princilple worth the customer? And I didn't know my pistol would be gone for 3 weeks. This may be one of those deals were nothing seems to go right. Next they'll be telling me my pistol was lost in shipping.
