Wouldn't surprise me at all. The last time I was shooting at a range, I was sighting in at 200 yards with my 300 Win Mag. At this range, you shoot slightly uphill and the berms are on terraces, meaning you can't really see anything between the 100 and 200 yard lines. I got my scope zeroed and started shooting groups. After sending twenty three rounds downrange, I walked up to retrieve my target. As I approached the terrace leading to the 200 yard berm, three does jumped up and almost trampled me running away!
On another occasion, a rabbit sat five feet in front of the muzzle of my Sharps while I sent a couple dozen rounds inches over his head. His ears would flap from the muzzle blast every time I shot! My wife figured he was suicidal from either owing child support on like six million babies or being impotent. And every time I go to another range, a gaggle of prairie chickens and one particular pronghorn usually show up to watch me from a few yards away. The pronhorn in particular pays close attention to what I'm doing and I think I've heard him snigger when I muff a shot. What a prick. Some critters got no respect for us shooters...

Back when I was in 4h shooting sports we had deer problems at out state shoot at the bgsl rifle range at our state shoot. All three years I went to the state shoot we had deer come out onto the rifle range.
