Long Rant...


Is it me, or do all these little fast food chicks have a chip on their shoulder? They always have an attitude, like they're mad at you because they make $5.15 an hour or something.

My wife had a pregnancy craving for Wendy's. So I go, and order a few Jr. cheeseburger deluxes. Now the chick is already bitching about her boss when I walk up. "I dont care if i get fired today, i cant stand her.." So something tells me to watch them as they make my sandwiches. I bet money she would put bacon on at least one of them.

Sure enough, on the last one she decides the girl making them isn't moving fast enough, and decides to speed up the process by slapping together the last sandwich. Well, she puts bacon on it. So I say, "no, no bacon on it". Now I know what shes gonna do, shes simply gonna take the bacon off. Like clockwork, she does just that. Now protocol calls for her to trash the sandwich and make another one. Protocol or not, I would have, and did, make her make me a new sandwich. I cant consume pork, and simply taking it off doesn't remove the juices and other debris that was left behind by the bacon. So she basically starts giving me crap, got a very nasty attitude, and eventually walks away, clearly having a bad day.

Back when I was coming up, you'd never take that tone or argue with a customer. This new generation is crap for brains it seems. The other girl, who seemed to be the "dumb" of the "dumb and dumber" duo, seemed a little upset also, but the more reasonable of the two. So I explained to her(not that I had to) that I wasn't trying to be an A-hole, but that I cant consume pork products, and simply taking the bacon off was not an option. With this completely "I'm a dumb-ass teenager" look on her face,
she says "Oh, you a moozlim or somfin'?" I say " ummm yeah ", and walk out.

This kinda crap makes me want to make sure I raise my kid to be 10x better than the rest of these morons. I always got compliments directed toward my parents about my behavior as a youth. I guess the current generation lets BET raise their kids.

Hmmmmm. If you asked for no bacon and got it then yeah that is lame to just try and take it off.

Around here things are a bit diffferent, the joints seem to have OK workers. When I was in SoCal that was another story, it seemed I needed to order in Spanish at all fast food joints! At a taco shop OK, but McD's and BK???? Serious, to get a GOOD english speaker at a fast food joint was against all odds at the drive through.

And a yes to back in the day you worked for the customer, and gave a crap too.

Yeah,, I think we all have some fast food stories. You dont even want to think about whats going on in the back when you cant see.Then they mess the order up and if you call them on it, your the a hole.

It's all upbringing. Not saying all kids left at home turn out that way, but many of the kids who have two working parents are left at home to their own devices and are being raised by their peers and garbage like MTV. Plus, something else I've noticed, is that a lot of parents are trying to be their kid's friend and not their parent. They think it's showing love when they take the kid's side against their teacher, the cops, or any other authority figure. They just don't get it! Being a parent doesn't mean you stick by your child's side at all times against everyone else. A parent teaches their child right and wrong and sometimes that involves their humiliation and being put on the spot to answer for their wrongs.

Sorry, I'm rambling. It's just a very important subject for me. There's no way I will allow my son to turn out that way. I'm not saying he will never do anything stupid or ignorant in his adolescence, but I will be there to correct him for sure.

Federal minimum wage is $5.85 and hour. So if they are only making $5.15 they have a right to be pissed.

As far as the bacon. It's not that you can't eat pork. You won't eat pork for religious reasons. There is a difference.

I was once belonged to a religion that shunned coffee, alcohol and tobacco. I grew up. I still can't stand coffee but I do love a good beer and a fine cigar.

I don't remember being pissed off making $3.35 an hour working at A&W when I was 17 years old, back in 1986.

It was making my 1977 Olds Cutlass payment, and I was banging car-hops(waitresses) like I was the last man on earth.

I run into similar things at times. I just have to remind myself that there's a reason they're working fast food. There's a place in this economy for everybody. If we required a college degree to build a burger, they'd be $15 at fast food places and $45 at a good restaurant.

Sadly, most of these idiots don't understand that their lack of motivation, laziness and crappy attitude are why they make min wage.

I recently went to a local Waffle House, and it was a 50 degree day. They had the air conditioner running and all the employees were wearing short sleeges. I guess that's fine when you're busy enough to stay warm. However, when you're sitting still waiting on your food, it's very uncomfortable. Not only that, but your food gets cold very fast.

When I worked min wage places like that, and complained to the manager that it was hot, the response was the the customers were comfortable..and I was working. These days, they don't care if all the customers eat wearing a winter coat, as long as the scumbag employees are comfortable.

I promptly sent an email to the main office...two times that I have been there and experienced this. They seem to think that giving me a free meal makes it better. Somehow, the thought of a free meal, while freezing and uncomfortalbe, isn't all that great. I told them to keep it warmer and I'll PAY for my meals.
