Attn: New Yorkers!

We are about to lose the little rights that we have... we cant stand for this!
  • renewable pistol licenses
  • prohibition of .50 caliber rifles and shotguns
  • prohibition of semi-automatic pistols and rifles
  • mandatory firearms storage
  • discretionary authority of pistol licensing agents
  • strict liability for gun owners, sellers, and manufacturers
http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=3349

Please call you legislature at (Edited: wrong number) and urge them to oppose bills A7331, A3451, A2772, A829, A76, A6525, A3447, A6052, and A9543. Also, call Commissioner Grannis at 518-402-8545 and ask him what message he is trying to send to hunters and shooters.

Please also visit NYSRPA and contribute http://www.rpa-pac.org/

looks like the type of legislature that has already been ruled unconstitutional in DC and San Fran.

When will these stupid politicians ever learn?

Currently pending in the Codes Committee is A9543, a measure that would require black powder guns to be licensed as firearms. This proposal has brought about an especially concerned response from the re-enactors community, as these guns are an integral part of their activity. Each year thousands of participants travel from all over the country, as well as within the state, to take part in events in New York, which is rich with military history. Passage of such a measure would surely kill this pastime in New York and deal yet another blow to the state's sagging economy. Please call your lawmakers today and urge them to oppose the bills listed above.
This is friggin insane! Our forefathers must be turning over in their graves with such nonsense. I hope you folks in NY don't take this lying down and call your reps and let them know your voting their a$$ out if they vote for more gun control.

I'm in NY and thank GOD my wife and I are planning on getting the HELL outta here ASAP and moving to NC/SC.

This place is too much, man....I can't stand it anymore. The NY/Manhattan rat-race grind is for the birds.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually the way the bill reads... with an empty bullet point to add more restrictions later on.

I am Upstate NY born and raised, but crap like this makes me glad I'm gone. What a difference moving from the bluest of the blue states to the reddest of the red ones.

Iv got half a mind to follow you.

Whats even better is i believe the text of the "Assault Weapons Ban" will ban every semi-auto with hand guards. They says these bills only outlaw "Non-sporting" firearms, yet it will outlaw just about every semi-auto rifle out there. My Remington 7400 wont even be exempt.

The problem is NY state politicians have less accountability than any other. Its a known and documented fact that NY state has the most dysfunctional legislature in the entire country.

Yep...very true. We're just fed up though and have resigned to the fact that if we sell a bit low...then we'll buy a bit low down there too. Screw it, I just want outta here.
