Each year thousands of participants travel from all over the country, as well as within the state, to take part in events in New York, which is rich with military history. Passage of such a measure would surely kill this pastime in New York and deal yet another blow to the state's sagging economy. Please call your lawmakers today and urge them to oppose the bills listed above.

This is friggin insane! Our forefathers must be turning over in their graves with such nonsense. I hope you folks in NY don't take this lying down and call your reps and let them know your voting their a$$ out if they vote for more gun control.

Federal law exempts antique firearms from all gun controls. Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 921(a)(16) defines antique firearms as all guns made prior to 1899 as well as all muzzleloaders made anytime, and replicas of pre-1899 cartridge firing guns made anytime, provided that such replica uses cartridges "not readily available in the ordinary channels of commercial trade." (Note: Cartridge firing machine guns and short-barreled shotguns are still illegal regardless of when made, under Section 5861 of the IRS Code, Title 26, U.S. Code.)

Legal Firearms For Prohibited Persons
I've read this on the ATF website, but found it quicker at this site.
Did Rudy start the ball rolling on this one ???
I don't know who I trust less with my 2A rights.
Rudy vs Hillary = I think Hillary would be more trustable. She would at least say we took that away. Rudy would most likely blame it on someone else.

The so-called "reasonable gun control" measures will take us all to the day when the last single-shot shotgun that grandpa owned is cut into pieces.

It's a horror.

If these maniacs pass the new ban, my new AR-15 is toast and my Mossberg 590 as well. I am working on how to inexpensively and temporarily "permanently disable" these weapons so they can stay in my hands until I can move out of NY and then reconstitute them. If this insanity passes the NY Senate and Spitzer signs it, I'm outta here.

If it passes Spitzer WILL sign it, no doubt about it. I am planning a boating trip the day that bill passes.

Worst case the guns get shipped out of state to a friend. There they can wait for me to get this house sold and score a new dwelling elsewhere.

I was thinking of disabling the trigger systems which are easy to replace. A gun can't fire without a trigger. So If I remove and send the trigger system out of state, the gun is permanently disabled... at least until I can put a new trigger in!

Since I don't have the trigger in the house, I should be clean as a baby's butt.

Incorrect Phone Number

Dear XDTalk Members,

Please DO NOT call the phone number (815-455-4100) as mentioned in the main post by user 'JBRODSKY'. This is the business phone number for EISENMANN Corporation located in Crystal Lake, IL. We are an Environmental Engineering company and have nothing to do with the subject matter that is listed in this forum.

I have also contacted the NRA-ILA and requested that they remove the phone number from the article on their website.

Regards,

Mike Wood
I.T. Manager
EISENMANN Corp.
Crystal Lake, IL
