My wife & I were sitting on our porch one evening last summer. A guy driving by must have seen someone he obviously didn't like coming the other way. As he drew even with our house, he stuck a pistol out the window & started cranking out rounds! Whoever he was shooting at returned fire. We hit the floor & hoped. There were probably a total of 20 rounds fired. Police arrived quickly, but the shooters were long gone. after the police left, I walked the street looking for casings (they didn't). I didn't find any near our house; I'm assuming they ejected into the car. I found a couple 9mm casings where the return fire came from & a detective picked them up a few days later. Never heard if anything came from it.

The theory I have about living in a good neighborhood is that the nicer the neighborhood, the more dirtbags come to your area to go shopping because nobody in their 'hood' has $hit. They just come to your's to steal stuff and then go sell it. Living in a good neighborhood is like having a huge steal-me-sticker all over your house unfortunately.
