Does it bother you?
Pearl Harbor was on ABC tonight. Whether or not you like the movie, thats not what I am after here. I want to know if it bothers you that Jimmy Doolittle was played by Alec Baldwin.

I've seen the original. I started watching this version many months ago and switched channels. So, I didn't even attempt to watch it tonight. From memory, it wasn't very good.

he is an actor playing a part. he is no hero, the man he portrayed was. i know i am gonna get roasted for this but just like john wayne, he was no hero, just an actor, just like tom cruise. i look up to people who have fought for what they believe in or for their country, not someone playing the part. davey crockett was the hero not billy bob thornton.

No big deal! What bothered me was having to sit with my wife and watch a two hour chick flick rather than a war movie. The movie was a big disappointment for me.

I met one of the "Doolittle Raiders" last month at at veterans ceremony in Columbus, Thomas C. Griffith, navigator of B-25 #40-2303. It was great meeting living history.

Baldwin is an idiot, but a hell of an actor.

He is after all the original Jack Ryan. Check him out on 30 Rock - he plays a conservative TV exec, and he is hilarious.
