Uhm, I dunno about this. Remember, this was attributed to a POLITICIAN trying to get other POLITICIANS to vote for his legislation. "Ladies and Gentleman, why, I was just the other day talking to a judge who told me of this occurrence..." The BBC story cites no sources other than a "peer" who is a former Member of Parliament.
Could this have happened? Sure. But right now, I think it is just a convenient story.
