Question about spare mag

Quick question... for those that carry spare mags.. since i have a compact and have a 10rd mag in my xd... would you still carry a 10rd mag as a spare.. i mean if you go through your 10rd mag for some reason would it even be worth tryin to conceal it again.. so should i just carry a 13 rd mag as a spare since i wouldnt matter anymore about trying to hide it?

For me, it depends on where I am going to be. I try to plan ahead. Of course, I just ordered that XD9 3-mag 16-round double mag pouch promotion so things are going to change real quick . But again, it will just depend on the situation.

In the car, I always carry a spare mag. I figure if some moron decides to unload on me or I come across an officer in trouble, I am most likely going to need another mag depending on how things go. Hopefully I never need it, but you know what I'm saying.

I carry a spare mag in a single belt holder, I carry the short 10 round mag because I don't like the longer one hitting stuff when I sit in the car.

I also have a spare 16-round 9mm mag in the glove box in case I have to ward off like 25 people. I've seen the zombie movies, I know what COULD happen.

By the same logic you presented, I carry a spare 12 round mag to back up my 9 rounder. Like you said, if you are in a situation where you need your spare mag, concealment isn't an issue.

+1 I always carry a spare, and if I had an XDSC I'd carry the longer mag as my backup. It is a little bit harder to conceal, but not nearly as hard as the pistol itself.

Carry the higher capacity mag... As we always say, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I carry a spare in the car and in the jacket I wear. I have one for the 9mm and PT145. Easy to conceal in my jacket... I live in alaska where it's winter 6 months out of the year. Other times you need some cover just in case so I always have a spare with me.
