I went to yoga tonight and across the street there were all of these TV trucks and I saw the yard was roped off.

I found out some guy shot his girlfriend's sister by accident. The whole thing sounds a little suspicious to me. I heard they had been drinking. What do you guys think?

A Golden Hill woman was shot to death in her home Monday, allegedly by her sister's boyfriend, authorities reported.

Riki Watkins, 25, was gunned down in the 1500 block of Dale Street shortly before 3 a.m., according to San Diego police and the county Medical Examiner's Office. She died at the scene.

Watkins, a waitress at a North Park restaurant, lived with her sister and the sister's boyfriend, 20-year-old Andrew Joseph Reyna, SDPD Lt. Kevin Rooney said.

After spending the evening at several bars with friends yesterday, the two women and Reyna returned home, and the couple went to bed, according to investigators.

Early in the morning, Reyna heard what he took to be "a commotion" outside his room, Rooney said. The young man armed himself with a gun, went out to investigate and opened fire in a hallway, Rooney said.

After the shooting was reported, Reyna waited at the scene for police to arrive. Following an interrogation, Reyna was booked into county jail on suspicion of murder.

It was unclear why he shot Watkins, though alcohol impairment may have been a factor, the lieutenant said. The slaying might have been accidental or could have resulted from mistaken identity, according to Rooney.

Neighbors told reporters the victim, who worked at Commonwealth Cafe on 30th Street, was friendly and fun-loving and often rode a skateboard up and down the street in front of her home.

This is a pretty upscale neighborhood with nice older homes. I guess it's a case of guns and alcohol don't mix.

I can't imagine how someone would feel after shooting someone you know. I wonder if he will have a girlfriend after this.
