There is one in Norco not listed that is closing. It is a Naval Weapons facility (might be the one listed as in Corona, Calif). It's about 3 miles from me. Per the paper, the closing is expected to cost about $15 million to the area at a savings of $20K/year.
The general manager of a computer company whose employees do the contract work said they will all lose their jobs as a result. He has offered to pay the govt the $20k each year just so the company stays open. Of course, that won't fly. |
