BORAX!!!
Sprinkle it on the carpet and the lawn, vacuum, then repeat a few weeks later. You wont have all the poison around the house and it is more effective...

Agree with the people who have mentioned Advantage. This is an amazing product. It works extremely well. In the summer you sometimes have to apply it a little more frequently if you notice your pet scratching as fleas are more prevalent then.

+1 on frontline for dogs. I use revolution for cats. Those are good preventatives, but they work through their natural oils. Both of those have to bought through a vet.
Regular bathing is a good preventative also. My indoor dog only gets bathed. Whatever you do, don't use Hartz. I went cheap at walmart one time, and it made my 12 year old lab sick for a whole month. She stunk because of the Hartz and was lethargic and looked like she gave up on life. She's better now and about to be 13. http://www.hartzvictims.org |

I had tried flea baths and dips too with the kittens ( thats really fun, bathing cats, even little kittens LOL) and powders on the 2 adult animals. Someone told me to try Frontline Plus, so I got some off ebay for much less than the vet sells it ( but be wary of this- some sellers may sell you fake stuff). The stuff I got was written in Afrikaans and english LOL, BUT it worked! I haven't had flea problems sicne, and no I didn't dose them any more than till I ran out of the doses.
