Awesome round but expensive and not fun to shoot for prolonged range visits. I could shoot 9mm all day long, .40 for a few hours but .357Sig after about 3 or 4 boxes I'm ready to go home.

boxes? How many rounds do you shoot each range visit? How often do you go?

Maybe I am just poor, but I try and shoot 100 rounds per range visit and visit the range every couple weeks.

(at $16 per range visit, it adds up)

Usually go once a month and shoot on average about 200 rounds per gun 9/40/357. We have a membership to the local outdoor range which is only 50 bucks annually so it leaves more cash for the ammo.

Last night I just ordered some bulk 357 sig ultramax reloads from Cabelas with ammo box. I bought the 300 rounds for 89.00, they have 600 and 1200 round boxes also. If you reload this is a great deal because you now have shells already made.

Here in Montana the Highway Patrol uses this, and one of the reasons is the penetration. From what I understand a lot of other states patrols also use it for the same reasons.

I have thought about trying .400 Cor-Bon, which is a .45acp case necked to .40 and blistering. Drop in barrels can be found.

I just want something that will shoot through the glass of a winshield, out a door and still have enough punch. I might be crazy to dance with that much penetration, but if someone ever tackles me, I'll do my best to put it through them longways to avoid collateral damage. Outside of them on me, unless they have a gun I'm not shooting.

Me and a friend of mine are going to setup some drywall and some 2x4's and a few other things and try out different kinds of ammo, I'll post the results when I get back probably not until after Thanksgiving.

I have a .357 sig in glock, and xd and I love them both. VERY expensive to shoot as it cost almost as much as 44 ammo anymore. Can be somewhat difficult to find if you don't buy online as places like Wal-Mart doesn't usually carry the sig ammo.
