That was downright hilarious! I think you got something going there. I agree with wot_racing a novel of short stories like this would be a great idea. And of course I'd buy several as gifts.

Yesterday you surprised me and I read the whole before lunch (I like to read something while I eat). Today I saw this post and had to hold off until lunch. so there I am eating and the whole place is quiet until I bust out in a riot of laughter.Give my thanks to whoever you get these stories from.

Supra, I live in the Broad Ripple Area (and can be found every other weekend at Pop Guns (at some point) shooting 200 or so rounds)).

A lot of these stories stem from my own experiences. These are pieced together from having spent a year at a very good military school listening to bull****, my limited knowledge of guns, my enjoyment of Glock-bashing (I try to do it with style). My hours upon hours spent at the range (most in military school, but now quite a bit out of it as I've gotten my XD)

All I can tell you is that our hero was shot in the vest (those three layers of duct taped armor plate have to account for something, and our hero always dresses like a walking tank, because wearing 60+ lbs of armor is the only way to carry groceries home), but was not otherwise permanently injured. I've talked to several people with story suggestions. I think I'm going to try to do a story for Friday which will be a flashback to Gecko-45's infamous "Mayor's Nephew" incident. A good mall story is always appropriate for Black Friday.

This series of stories is also somewhat patterned on a series written by one of my heros, Simon Travaglia, the author of BOFH (Bastard Operator From Hell). It details his escapades with stupid computer users at his university, and later employer, trust me the BOFH, unlike our nameless hero, is not someone you want to cross.

Shout outs go to you guys for convincing me to keep writing; my beloved little sister who gave me the courage to keep going when things got rough; the men and women in Iraq, Afghanistan and abroad who have volunteered to put their lives up on the alter of liberty such that we might be free; to the members of the United States Congress, and the media who have ignored their sacrifice; to my trusted confidant, and adviser who is unfortunate enough to live in Cook County, IL where she is not free to keep and bear arms; and most importantly, to the memory of my father who was murdered in cold blood 3APR07, an English Major graduated from Notre Dame that taught me to write (and use spellcheck!), I owe him a debt I will never be able to repay.
