No I don't think we are destined to be this divided. The last 20 years have been horrendous, and now that the train is rolling, it will be very hard to stop it. We always need an adversary, and we are stuck in this us vs. them mentality.

What is fueling it is a cultural war. IMHO. The 60's are not over. We are at a cross roads as never before, new vs. old. Conservative vs. liberal. The state of politics mirrors this. Our country has made incredible advancements in the last 100 years and the culture has not kept up. What does not kill us makes us stronger. Either we will tear this country apart, or at some point we will come back together and move forward as one. I do believe it will get worse before it gets better.

Honestly I was pretty wrapped up with Paul's message. (Still am) I thought that his impeccable record of integrity would shelter him from the storm. However, it does not appear that Paul has the right Personal assets to bring the people together. He does not have the charisma like Kennedy, or Regan.

So while his message is spot on, the messenger seems to fall short of rising to the front. What he has started though may still turn out to be monumental. He has gained the most support ever against both parties, and that is a direct reflection of how unhappy voters are. The pendulum must swing the other way at some point.

I'd love to sit down in the bar with Joe Biden, because I bet he's got a good sense of humor and some really funny jokes and stories. Vote for him? Not in a million years.

Yeah, he seems like a pretty funny guy. He's made some funny comments at the debates. Bill Maher had him and Robin Williams on his show when the whole Jeff Gannon thing was coming down and the interaction was hysterical.
