Going to the gun show tomorrow. (Back from the show update)
I have nothing to add to the forum, but would like to see how well I do with my predictions. Well yet again I am going to another gun show because I want to pick up an Anvil Arms lower and I know they will be there. They have no store to purchase in person so it must be done at gun shows or shipped to a ffl. The downfall is it is a one hour drive and have to pay for parking admission and all that. Anvil will do the transfer for nothing so the receiver will be $100 plus tax out the door and no wait or dealing with other local ffls. Anyways I will post my findings tomorrow, but in the past my gun show experience has not been that great. Super high prices on mil surp. ak kits and ammo. So at the least I should only walk out spending very little. The only other thing I am looking for is some sks stripper clips that I can get off the internet 20 for $15 shipped so I know someone there will want $10 for 5 clips. So tomorrow I am going for an ar lower and parts kit, stripper clips, a rusky sks sling and some ammo. One questio though what is the best lower parts kit for the money.
My price predictions for tomorrow are as follows. sks sling -$20 5 stripper clips- $10 7.62x39 wolf mil classis 1k $225 Winchester 9mm fmj 100 rnds $20 Winchester 40 S&W fmj 100 rnds $27 Rommy G parts kits- $150

You should be able to get 100 rounds of WWB at Walmart in 9mm for less than $20 and they won't charge for parking.
Also, $225 for 1K of 7.62x39 is pretty high. Ammoman has 1K for $189-199 and free shipping. You might want to save a little money. It's Wolf ammo also. Just a fyi. Good luck on the other stuff. |

Retired I know it is cheaper at Wal Mart and 7.62 off the net. I laugh at the ammo prices at the shows, which I have found to be much higher than in the real world.

The last 4 years I went to the local gun shows nothing whatsoever is priced reasonably. I am not going back. I envy the guys that have gun shows with decent prices.

Here in Western WA, the gun shows are high prices for junk everytime.
To SELL a gun privately you have to join their club which is not worth it unless you sell guns privately a lot.. you know, the non-ffl dealers type. So, it's the same guys over and over selling the same junk at the same prices. I've offered lower prices for stuff I wanted only to be told in no uncertain terms that wasn't acceptable. Apparently they haven't heard of the internet yet.

Back from the gun show. The prices were the worst I have seen, however I got one thing I was going for.
1k of wolf 7.62x39 mil classic or brown bear- $230-$250 9mm winchester in 50 rnd packs $11 No sks slings Rusky sks matching parts rearsanaled $400 No sks stripper clips. Xds from $540 $640 No ak parts or parts kit. And the best deal of the show XD accessory kits with the three mags and holster for $100 bwaaaaahhhhhhhh. I had to try my best to not tell the guy you can get these for $40-$50 shipped off the internet. So I just gave him the you are out of your mind look.. I will post pics of the new toy later tonight when she is put together.

Did they have the guys with super-duper collectors 1911's for $2K each?
You know, the ones under glass and if you ask to see one they say "No.". I've seen the same guy with the same guns for 15 years. Nobody is allowed to see them and if you talk to him about them he acts like you are an 11 year old trying to buy a .308. When I do go to gun shows (pretty much never, now) I always would walk up and ask to see the 1911 just to piss him off. Huge fun.

Are Anvil arms good lowers? I picked up a DPMS at my gun dealer last for for $95, which I thought was pretty good.

Well I just about finished putting it together. First ar lower build. The receiver is really nice but I still have a few things to finish. Such as the roll pin in the trigger guard is just about all the way in. It is through the one side of the receiver and the entire trigger guard but it was a rough going and I have not got it through the other ear on the receiver. Dont want to break it so I might pull the pin back out. The other problem I ran into is the mag catch button. The magazine catch is not even half way threaded into the mag button and the mag button is resting on the receiver and the whole thing can wobble an 1/8" each direction is that right? I never owned anything ar related and have never even shot one but I like to build rifles so figured why not.
